Screen Printing Cushions

In the first year of the course we were shown and taught a wide variety of practical skills - one of our projects was learning how to screen print onto fabric and make cushions.

We started the project by drawing architecture from around Plymouth, choosing a final drawing to screen print onto a cushion.

We spent several weeks using the facilities in PCA's printing studios, experimenting with possible techniques and processes such as: screen printing, inks/dyes, flock and foiling.

After we had selected our design, we were taught step by step how to make a cushion with pipping and embroidery details...
