In September 2017 I enrolled at Plymouth College of Art on the course 'Interior Decoration, Design and Styling'.

I had visited a selection of different interior design courses over the country, (Edinburgh, UWE, NTU, etc.) but nothing was quite as individual as the course at PCA.

I was really drawn to the interior 'styling and decoration' element of the course which was lacking in the other courses I'd considered applying for.

I wanted to document a few pictures of projects I covered in the first few weeks to compare and contrast my style and development.

Summer Project

Before we started the course we were set a summer project to bring in on our first day.

This was a really fun little project to get us to start thinking about design and creating schemes. It was also a chance for us to showcase our personal style and atheistic.

Drawing Skills

In the first few weeks we focused a lot on our hand drawing skills and spent time doing still life drawing to improve our technique.

This was a great way for us to get back in touch with these crucial drawing skills we needed to progress in the course.

Perspective Drawing

After focusing on still life we then taught about 'perspective drawing' which would really help us when trying to create 3D interior sketches.

Autumn/Winter Trends 2017

Another small project we focused on was Autumn/Winter trends for 2017 where we were asked to create a mood board...

These were just a few of my projects from the beginning of first year which led me on to the PCA Cafe project.
